so i’m also writing ‘like baby ducklings’ part duck deux. so i thought i’d throw out a snippet! (to keep people interested, obvsly) actually it is less a snippet and more of the entire first scene of the first draft. :D

Danny corners Stiles after Chemistry and demands, “What have you done to Jackson?”

Stiles, of course, is in no way prepared to handle this question. Because sure - Jackson imprinted on Stiles - this is a thing that has happened. However, discovering of this startling new development only happened recently - thanks creepy Peter - and Stiles really hasn’t had time to process it, like, at all. Between Jackson’s attempts to actually embody a baby duckling - lizard? - and Derek’s alarming downward spiral into jealousy, Stiles really is totally unprepared to field this question.

So he does the intelligent thing and says, “Huh?”

And wow, Danny is really not having that. He pulls out a list from his pockets - and hey! Stiles thought he was the only one who made lists, okay - and shoves it into Stiles’ hands.

It isn’t labelled or anything and Stiles briefly mourns the fact that Danny’s lost the opportunity to call it something brilliant. Stiles has no time to come up with something on the fly, so he adds mentally to the top of the list ‘Danny’s What the Fuck Has Stiles Done to Jackson List.’

The list reads:

1. Jackson’s weird new attachment to Stiles
2. I saw them hugging (wtf)
3. I mean, I love Jackson, but Jackson’s a dick - except to Stiles?
4. I SAW JACKSON BRING FOOD TO STILES (and he didn’t do anything to it)

And written hastily in the margins:

WHAT IS GOING ON :(

So Stiles, naturally, panics. He blurts out, “We had a very life changing experience together.”

When Danny’s brow furrows, Stiles adds, “If you know what I mean.”

Really, it’s no surprise everything goes downhill after that.
