actually, that accidental reincarnation fic idea was the original plot of they call kids like us vicious and carved out of stone, but i went slightly (okay, a lot) to the left with how the fic actually turned out. but before, it was going to be p much canon compliant and stiles and derek were going to be in a relationship before derek tells him about the aging thing, but instead of how the other fic works with the “rewinding” stiles was going to watch derek die and then realize that he couldn’t follow derek because stiles messed with that magic shit.
so stiles was going to be living this ~immortal life, and along the way he would meet up with reincarnated versions of derek and watch all these variations of derek die.
and then i decided nope i wanted a happy ending. ahaha.
